CALL FOR COLLABORATIONS

The Sustainable Coconut Partnership is calling for contributions in the creation of a collaborative and groundbreaking publication:

"PULSE OF THE INDUSTRY”

The Coconut sector’s Sustainability Report

Observations, Trends, Solutions to the Industry's Sustainability challenges

Outline:

Coconut industry players and industries sourcing coconut products are increasingly seeking guidance on sustainability in an era where sustainability is paramount and as we face a pivotal moment with a new generation of farmers poised to take over under-invested farms.

However, no current source of information is comprehensive enough to fully understand the material issues affecting coconut farmers and supply chains, or to adapt strategies, programs, and interventions accordingly.

The Sustainable Coconut Partnership (SCP) in its role of convener of the private sector decided in response to create a comprehensive resource – the first of its kind – outlining the current state of coconut sustainability, key challenges, and solutions.

Industry leaders and experts have applauded this initiative highlighting that coconut production faces many changing environmental, social, and economic challenges and that the time to act collaboratively is now.

This vital document will fill a critical gap as the SCP spearheads a voluntary, market-based approach to sustainability to help the sector in its transition. It will empower companies to navigate the landscape, assess material issues, and make informed investment decisions.

  • "The Pulse of the Industry" will showcase both aggregated and disaggregated scientific, industry and public data, offering a fair contextualization of material issues, challenges, commitments, and accomplishments. The publication will gather the best science-based insights available, alongside surveyed input from stakeholders of the industry focusing on South-East Asia first and growing bigger in next editions

Hos to Contribute:

  • The Sustainable Coconut Partnership makes an open call for organizations and experts in the sector to share:

  • Publications, papers, data, observations, insights on trends, and potential solutions to the industry's sustainability challenges.

  • All insights will be credited to their authors in this collaborative publication

  • Interested parties should send their content with an accompanying abstract via info@coconutpartnership.org and nronderos@bsr.org adressed to Nicolas Ronderos.

  • The submission deadline is set for August 10th  2024
