The Sustainable Coconut Partnership sets the standards for sustainable coconut production and supply chain verification and defines the procedures that verification bodies must follow during their assessments. To ensure credibility and transparency, SCP does not issue verification statements itself.

Instead, this responsibility lies with independent verification bodies, which conduct the origin-level, and supply chain assessments that lead to Sustainable Coconut Charter's (SCC) verification.

Verification Bodies statuses in relation to the SCC Assurance System

 

  • Full Approval: permits the Verification Body to implement verification services independently, while following all relevant SCP verification procedures and standards  

  • Provisional Approval: permits the Verification Body to implement audits for the purpose of the Witness Assessment, which is required in order to achieve Full Approval​​
